Civ 5 Best Diplomatic Civ
I currently have a Civ 5 game where I was aiming for a diplomatic victory. 'Unfortunately' throughout the game some civilisations may have fallen at my hand, city states too, with the end result of one competing civ and 3 allied city states. What this means is there is only a possible 6 votes for me.
Is it possible to still win somehow?Even if it was possible to make the remaining civ vote for me I would not win.I heard if you attacked a city which was taken from another civ, you can give it back to them and bring them back into the game. Unfortunately it looks like I can't do this with any of the cities.Victory screen says:Votes for you: 5Total Available Diplomatic Votes: 6Votes Needed for Diplomatic Victory: 9Is there any way I can still win this game with a Diplomatic Victory?
Best Diplomatic Civ Civ 5
Do you mean 1)Diplomatic wins using the UN or 2)Diplomatic wins with the AP?If you mean 1) then financial helps with research, obviously and industrious helps with the 2 key wonders - the UN and Cristo Redentor. With the latter you have spiritual's benefits and can switch civics/religions whenever. Civs with mysticism are very nice but spreading someone else's religion is also doable; its just you dont get the money.
The natural choice therefore is therefore Huayna Capac.Bonafide's point is a good one and as you might not need the UN wonder speeded up (because no-one else has Mass Media) Mansa Musa is also good. Edit: actually Mansa is better; spiritual speeds up CR (which is still nice even if you are spiritual) and speeding up the build of the UN is far from game-breaking.If you mean 2) then founding an early religion and using it as the AP one is BAD because you want as few foreign cities as possible with the AP religion so you can vote yourself in. It is best to bulb theology and found christianity.Spiritual is much more helpful here because you can change religions/civics a lot to get open borders and bribe people out of theocracy (you can use spies as well but that is something else to build) Industrious also helps to build the AP is it has no speed-up production resource and can be quite expensive. Therefore the best leader is Ramesses II.
With the best two traits, a UB that can get you a GP and a UU that can take out a rival early he is far and away the most suited. I'm sure that's the case for many, many players.Pericles for culture. It's just so much playing as him.Victoria for Domination.
This is tough. But I like the real Victoria and the British Empire so this is a fun challenge for me.
There are probably better leaders but I like to try as her the most.To the other poster who made the comment about proper diplomatic victories, I don't want to pick up a diplomatic victory on my way to a domination win. I just think the current victory conditions are wrong anyway but I just wanted to try and see who I will enjoy playing as and trying to win not by beating everyone down. Well I have played games where even if every leader except my opponent voted for me I still wouldn't get victory. So no it's not skilful. It just doesn't make sense. They should've looked at the Charlemagne scenario and modelled diplo victories on that.As it is, I'll it have off always now.
It's a victory condition that doesn't work in my mind and I wouldn't feel good if I won with it or if I lost with it.Space race makes sense. Culture makes sense.
Conquest and domination certainly makes sense. This doesn't.Another problem. You get the religious leader or world leader title when you win? But not everyone needs to vote for you in certain cases? How are you a world or religious leader if everyone doesn't vote for you?
