I have version 29.0.1, and i want to go back to 28.when it upgraded, all the buttons in the upper left disappeared, and some went into this little button at the far right, except there's no Tools button any more, so I don't know where my Options are.When I bookmark a page, i no longer get a dropdown menu to put it into a specific folder, instead it just goes into Unsorted Bookmarks.I'd never even considered dragging and dropping them to sort them afterwards, can't always tell what it is without opening it. I don't drag and drop much, i prefer the right click menus.AND, the entire browser bar at the top is wider, so there's even less page displayed.Everybody says don't turn them off because of security issues blah blah blah, but this seems like more a cosmetic issue than anything else. Why can't they just fix what needs fixing and leave the rest alone? Please excuse me, I've got cataracts and can't read all this tiny stuff very well.
Another good reason why i need for things to be where i'm used to them being, instead of having to hunt for them all the time.I tried your links, but all i got was server not found messages. But i haven't restarted yet.i went to the ff site to try to download v28, but they insisted on trying to give me the latest version insteadwhere do i find the menu bar default? That will replace it. Any other changes can be adjusted in the about:config URL area. You can also freeze the version you want by turning off all updates for it. If using Linux, you also have to turn off it being updated from their Update Manager too. In my distro I'm given the choice to set 'Ignore' for updates I don't want. I like FF28 too, and have mine just the way I want it, as you can see. I've shortened the URL area so my header picture will show better, changed buttons around, gotten rid of the shaded portion of the URL, shortened the space tabs can expand, could even set them to have a constant size no matter how many were up there.
I also looked at 29, decided to stick with 28. You can go with the LTS - Long Term Support versions which are only updated like once every 18 months or something I think. While I was all in favor of the Firefox developers releasing more than one major version every 2-3 years, I'll admit that this new every-six weeks cycle is just as bad, only in different ways.

Especially since now there's no time for anyone to really work on large new features because the codebase is a constant moving target. Problem is, Chrome is aimed at funneling everything into Google's various services, Internet Explorer is still a security nightmare no matter how much progress has been made since the dark days of IE6, Opera is now just a different skin on Chrome and there isn't a Safari for Windows anymore even if it didn't always suck.But I'm not sure what it is you mean by not being able to sort your bookmarks. The bookmarks button is now the one next to the star by the address bar and there's still a 'Show all bookmarks' option which is more or less unchanged from years ago and you can still drag and drop bookmarks in the bookmarks menu same as you've been able to do for ages. You can customize that toolbar pretty extensively as well if you hit the menu button (looks like three horizontal lines) and then click customize.So what exactly is it that you can't sort with your bookmarks?
